Problem:
The HR Recruiting Team at Progrexion faced a critical issue. Their new sales center in Oklahoma couldn’t retain employees, and over half resigned within a few months. Despite this, HR requested the usual talking-head testimonial videos—simple employee interviews where they explained why they liked their jobs. While this format wasn't all wrong, it was clear that Oklahoma needed something more engaging.

Solution:
As Creative Director, I led the pitch to HR on an additional concept, ensuring cross-departmental collaboration while maintaining production schedules for the day of shooting that could still work for their budget and timeline. My Video Producer, Kyle, initiated the fresh take. Instead of the usual testimonials, he envisioned a "Culture Reel." I recognized the potential in Kyle’s idea and brought our Copywriter, Brian, on board. We crafted a punchy, direct script, and then Kyle storyboarded it. He captured the footage in one seamless half-day of shooting on location while still capturing the testimonial interviews.
The HR team expected the usual. What they got was a campy, energetic edit that showcased not just why people should work at Progrexion—but why they stay. Importantly, we delivered the traditional testimonial videos and the Culture Reel on time and without extra costs. Videos were placed on job recruiting landing pages and edited center-cut safe for social channels.
value delivered:
The results were clear. Job applications increased more than 50% with the new culture video. Social media engagement spiked 130% higher than typical HR content. What’s more, the Culture Reel redefined how Progrexion approached recruiting. The business started incorporating more engaging, walk-and-talk style videos in future campaigns.
And the impact didn’t stop there. Employees who participated in the video—both in the testimonials and the Culture Reel—stayed longer. HR successfully used the Culture Reel to attract interest, while the traditional videos introduced potential recruits to the tight-knit team they’d be joining.
